The King Penguin is the world's second largest Penguin, the first being the Emperor Penguin.
King Penguins do not build nests, but when they lay their one egg, this is placed between their feet and their belly. Incubation of this egg is about five weeks and both parents share this task. The King Penguin has the longest breeding cycle of any bird, as they take 14 to 16 months to fledge their single chick.
