Dean Street from Ross Road

Believed to be named after John Markham Dean, owner of Port Stephens and well known merchant in Stanley, who died in 1888.

He arrived in 17th November 1840, to work at Port Louis as a clerk to John Bull Whitingtom.

On the right of the picture is the 'West Store' which is owned by the Falkland Islands Company Limited (commonly referred to simply as the FIC).
